Road to 1.0: Community Questions

Hello Responders!

For this dev blog, we’re going to be sharing some updates on community topics that aren’t directly related to game content but deserve addressing ahead of the 1.0 launch. We’ve tried to tackle some of the most common questions, but as always, if you have questions about anything, feel free to come chat in our Discord!

1.0 Pricing Update & Summer Sale

Throughout Early Access, we have always mentioned that the price of No More Room in Hell 2 could see an increase at full launch due to the amount of work we have put in during the public development period and the value that’s been added to the game. However, we’ve seen over the course of multiple free weekends and discounted periods that a low barrier of entry creates much more opportunity for amazing community moments.

With that in mind, we’ve decided No More Room in Hell 2 will remain at a $29.99 USD base price! The game will continue to be available at even lower prices during the currently ongoing Summer Sale and future discount opportunities. This choice is one we’ve made after listening to all the feedback we’ve received over our free weekends and throughout Early Access. Purchasing right now still offers the best opportunity to pick the game up for a deal and earn some Early Access rewards prior to 1.0!

We’ll have additional info on any additional purchased content at a later date, so stay tuned! If you want to earn our Early Access cosmetics, you still have until 1.0 to do so.

Controller & Steam Hardware Support

As part of the console launch, native controller support is coming to PC, meaning those who wish to survive on a gamepad will have a bespoke control scheme as well as controller-centric features like aim assistance. We’ve also made significant changes to various menus and UI features to accommodate larger screens and different navigation methods.

These improvements will also translate over to the Steam hardware line, including better control compatibility for Steam Deck and Controller. Offering No More Room in Hell 2 on so many platforms is an exciting moment for the team, and we look forward to player feedback from across each ecosystem!

Frequent Issues & Support

We’ve been tracking several issues players have faced since the launch of Revelations, and while we’ll share a detailed list of all our fixes closer to 1.0, we wanted to give a glimpse at an upcoming feature that prevents multiple common frustration points.

Unstuck functionality is coming as part of the 1.0 release! This feature is a common community request that not only helps prevent the most severe of edge cases but also allows players to save their Responders from unfair doom. We’ve added some thoughtful restrictions to the unstuck button to prevent gameplay-affecting use, like a cooldown and a requirement to always place players back at their last spawn point.

We know many players have found themselves trapped in geometry or falling through the map, even as we’ve worked to remove the places it occurs. While we will continue to look into those specific cases, this should allow you all to continue to have fun despite those moments. We appreciate everyone who sends us a bug report in Discord or through our support page!

Another Survival Preview

By far the most popular request since our last free weekend was an opportunity to return to Survival. Considering the time we are taking to ensure 1.0 can be the best release possible, we decided to bring Survival back for players this weekend so those who missed it could enjoy Flooded once more!

It’s worth noting this version of Survival is the same as from Free Weekend, meaning certain issues we’ve fixed or changes we’ve made in 1.0 will not be present yet. We’ll have a future blog detailing the Survival mode in general and what to expect when it launches. Have fun and as always, stay safe out there!
